Scorn is a human-first-person atmospheric horror game that plays out in an atmospheric universe with strange forms and somber tapestries.
The game is based on the notion of “being plunged into the unknown”. In a secluded and tangled fantasiac world, you explore different interconnected regions using a non-linear method. The unsettling setting is part of the story.
Each area has its own theme (story), puzzles as well as characters that play a role to create a cohesive environment. In the game, you’ll discover new places, acquire different skill sets and weapons, as well as various other items and work to make sense of the world you are presented with.
GAMEPLAY Features
The cohesion of the “lived within” world. Scorn is set in an open-world that contains several interconnected regions. Each one is a maze like structure with various areas and pathways to explore. The plot is told completely within the game. It doesn’t have any deleted scenes to detract from the grim reality of the world. Pay attention and the game will never show any sympathy for you when something goes unnoticed on your shaky travels. Each thing serves a purpose as well as a motive. It’s just a matter of trying to figure out why.
Full body awareness: Participants are more comfortable when they are conscious of their character’s movements and body. Your surroundings interact with you in a natural way. Pick up objects by using your hands instead of hovering in mid-air. The instruments and equipment can be operated by grasping the controls.
It’s a defined and limited area with regard to inventory and ammunition management. It plays a big role in keeping the player on top of their game and in a state of mind throughout the game. The player will need to think about when to take on a challenge, when they should take cover, and what their actions have on the surroundings. Diverse play styles will be required to progress.
Scorn Part 1 and 2. Is the part of the game separated?
We are planning to release the game in two parts, with the first part coming in 2018.
All that is left to do is be done. It will not be DLC either, no expansions or sequels. Ever.
